I was delightfully greeted and helped when i needed a few items with out any effort i was given what i needed right away. Married couple was fantastic than you

Its a bit run down but due to the service given by staff i was very glad to stay and would stay again. Please fix bath tub so we can use the bath tub and not just the shower.

Low class, no office on site

  • Older travelers

    The day we left

The reception is 1 mile away in another hotel, and there is no personel available. The lightbulbs in the bed lightening were missing. The cleaning was very bad and had not been done for some time. A lady upstairs had some commercial activities going on, and the bed was making noice every time throughout the night

  • Older travelers

Questionable people staying there and "hanging around" outside. After checking in and going out to do business our motel door was kicked in and things of ours taken. The night propriator was kind and found us another motel.

  • Older travelers

    the staff was ok

The room was dirty, stains on the sheets, the breaskfast was rolls in plastic wrapper. The location was was bad. This place was a half way house. We actually , left in the middle of the night, we did not feel safe. I will never use booking. com again!

  • Older travelers

    leaving it

the blood splatters on the ceiling (lots), the black path on the carpet, the brown stains in the tub, the single wash cloth & had towel when there were 2 people on the reservation, the pitch dark parking lot after dark, the door lock which only occasionally accepted the key, while you are standing in a dark deserted parking lot, the absence of ANY motel worker except while morning cleaning was done. This place was a dump that cost me $72.00 a night. You can be sure that I will tell everyone (I already did) about what you call a 2 star motel. I will not use YOUR services again either.

  • Older travelers

    friendly manager, not much else

    room seedy, and very shopworn.

  • Older travelers

Older motel -- tried to take care of it -- addded matching fdurniture, microwave, small refrigerator at one point -- outside looked clean and well kept. It was srange not having a manager of some sort and having to go to another motel a few blocks away for the key.

Improvements don't seem to have been taken care of: top of water chamber on toilet was broken, carpet was worn out, light bulb in one of the bedside tables did not work, lampshade was deformed as though a too big bulb had been used at one time.Bedside tables had holes in the center -- what had ben there? Bathroom floor was sticky, something smeared on wall beneath sink. Other people at the motel looked more as if they wer living there rather than passing through. There was a coffee pot in the room, but no coffee. One styrofoam cup and one plastic drinking glass, towels and hand towels but no wash cloths

I am sorry but there was not much I liked except the location.

The room had a broken & badly leaking toilet, the room was musty & loooked very rundown w/ somew lights not working. I do appreciate the response of the manager when I asked her for a refund because of the condition of the room. She was very polite & courteous. Your other motel up the street was very nice & I wish I had booked it instead.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed and where I needed to go.

  • Older travelers

It is close to the Veteran's Hall.

Absolutely disgusting; smells like animal and smoke, filthy carpets, paper cups filled with cigarette butts on table outside of room. We walked in and promptly looked for other lodging. Motel owned by same folks as the Golden chain-similar review. Tear this place down.

  • Group of friends

The location was very close to Empire Mine State Park.

This is to answer what I did not like, yet I am not supposed to write complaints? These are opposing directions. The two rooms did not have light bulbs in some of the needed lamps, one window did not lock, the light switch at door did nothing, there was no continental breakfast as advertised. There was no manager on duty - only a newly hired maitenence man and the cleaning lady. We got the key from the cleaning lady. One of our room choice ended up not having a key, so we were given a different room on the 2nd floor, despite knee issues. When we arrived, we were directed to go 3 blocks in order to register. I would not recommend this motel to anyone. Despite being a non-smoking room, the table outside the room had an ash tray, as did most of the rooms. Heavy use of air fresheners required me to open the window and turn on the air conditioning in order to air out the heavy scent. The tv worked one night, but not the next morni ng, yet there was no one to call to fix it.

  • Couple

Only the location- close to downtown Grass Valley. The staff we encountered was pretty nice too, but had given away our room since we came after a wedding.

The room we stayed in was all run down and wasn't ready when we arrived. Granted I think they had given away our original room, but still not the best place to stay. Everything was just all run down like it hadn't been updated in like 20+ years, and there was no trash can for us to use in the room. There was no staff on location, only up the street at the other motel. I also think "breakfast included" is a bit of a stretch as that meant there was instant coffee and wrapped danishes left in the room the night before. I wouldn't care about any of the above if my room cost $40-$50, but to pay $77 for that kind of room and service is upsetting.

  • Older travelers

Location was good because it was close to the Empire Mines, where we were going for a wedding. The place was easy to find. About the only good thing we could say about the room accommodations was that the bed was acceptable The manager did offer to refund our money if we didn't stay when we complained about the smoky room but since it was a holiday weekend and everything was already booked, we had no choice but to stay.

Our non smoking room had a intense smoke smell when we arrived. There was a dirty ashtray outside our room indicating that smoking had gone on very close to our room if not inside as the managed insisted. As for the accommodations, the following was unacceptable: Toilet needing to be flushed twice Couldn't control the temperature of the water in the shower and there was no stopper to take a bath the floor had humps no tissues in the tissue box towel were sparse unsavory characters were milling about smoking Overall it was a dive and we will never return.

  • Couple

The guy who checked us in at the desk was nice.

No toilette paper in the room. I had to leave the motel in the middle of the night to drive to the office and ask for it. No maid service for entire 3 day stay. Dirty clothes from a previous occupant were left in the dresser. No TV remote was supplied.Floor was filthy. Bathroom was filthy. Vent fell out of A/C unit. Refrigerator barely worked and I cut my finger on its broken handle. Tray was gone from the microwave. Our "continental breakfast" for the three day stay consisted of only two small prepackaged Danish and one small pot of coffee - not each day - just ONE time in three days. No maid service meant no fresh towels or washcloths . Our one small garbage was never emptied. The smoke detector was ripped off/ fallen from / gone from the wall. You can doubt me or call me a crank however I assure you that I have pictures to back up this story. I would NEVER stay here again.
